Is Shiny Tympole in Pokémon GO?

Many players are wondering if Shiny Tympole appears in Pokémon GO, let's look into the details on the toad-like Pokémon.
Is Shiny Tympole in Pokémon GO?

The Water Festival has gone live in Pokémon GO, and that means there are plenty of themed Pokémon like Tympole to catch for the time being. Of course, most Pokémon GO players are on the hunt for a shiny when more options are added to the wild pool.

Most of the Pokémon that were added to the wild for the Water Festival are Water-types to match the theme. Nearly all of them have a shiny version to catch, and Binacle in particular will have a shiny debut. But some of the lineup still lacks a shiny version, even after being in the game for so long.

Anyone looking for a shiny Tympole in Pokémon GO can rest assured during the ongoing Water Festival event. For some time now, shiny Tympole has been available to catch. Once a shiny is introduced through any kind of event, it stays as an available option for the foreseeable future.

The chances of getting a shiny are typically super low, so you'll need to stay determined if you're hoping to get Tympole. Some events will increase the chance of a shiny, like the Community Days for example.

But the best bet is to always just catch as many of the same Pokémon as possible. This can be done by using lures and walking around as many PokéStops as possible. When you encounter something like a Tympole, all you have to do is tap on it and start the encounter.

Just by starting the encounter, you can see whether you found a shiny version or not. Tympole specifically will have a yellow hue rather than the usual blue, which translates to a green Seismitoad upon full evolution.

With the addition of the Water Festival event, there is a temporary list of Pokémon that players can attempt to catch for a shiny. This includes all of the Pokémon in the wild and within raids.

  • Lapras with a scarf
  • Binacle
  • Tentacool
  • Slowpoke
  • Goldeen
  • Staryu
  • Magikarp
  • Marill
  • Lotad
  • Wailmer
  • Tympole
  • Mantine
  • Alomamola
  • Qwilfish
  • Alolan Raichu
  • Mega Blastoise
  • Carvanha
  • Luvdisc
  • Psyduck
  • Clamperl
  • Mudkip
  • Feebas

From the total list, they can appear in research tasks, in the wild, in raids, or through hatching eggs. Even after the Water Festival ends and many of these Pokémon disappear for a bit, they will continue to have a shiny version when they return to the game.
